A Noite do Choro Pequeno

When reading the text of “A Noite do Choro Pequeno”, I marvelled at how João Ascenso told such a tender story, at the same time exposing the reality of being a woman in Portugal in the 60s which unfortunately still persists until today in many cases. When reading those lines I was overcome by an immense tenderness for the two characters that actresses Maria D'Aires and Joana de Verona so masterfully brought to the stage, under the supreme direction of Beto Coville and Luísa Ortigoso. I hope this soundtrack has helped in their wonderful work.

"Two stories that intersect. Two women, two princesses, one down to earth, the other with her head in the clouds. Each one with its sound, its music, its brand. The mix of these stories is presented with unique music that represents these two sides of life and that sets the narrative on a fascinating path where the truth of each one prevails and shines. The sound of raw, harsh life and the reality of what it means to be a woman." (Beto Coville, director)

"Beautiful musical ambiance. Engaging, melancholic that transported us in this joint wait. It supported us in the meeting and levitated the emotion." (Joana de Verona, actress)

It supported us in the meeting and levitated in the emotion. (Joana de Verona, actress)

"The music evokes a map of a certain melancholy of the past or of what could have been and cannot be.

It recognizes from afar the design of a constellation of lost and unspoken feelings, releases them, awakens them from the void in search of a new meeting point - affection. In each show it is liberating.

It is the encouragement to search for the truth." (Maria D’Aires, actress)
